While most members are Master Gardener graduates, all those interested in gardening and who have a garden are welcome to join. If you come to a meeting you will be welcomed, encouraged to join, and be able to see for yourself the enthusiasm of its members.
The LI Master Gardeners is an organization dedicated to uniting gardeners through their common interest in gardening, to disseminating horticultural information to its members and the public, to extending its horticultural educational activities for the improvement of its members and the communities of Nassau and Suffolk Counties, and to seeking and initiating projects, such as the establishment and/or maintenance of public gardens.
Long Island Master Gardener members benefit from such
activities as lectures, demonstrations, seed and plant exchanges, tours,
designing and making flower arrangements which are donated to local
nursing homes, vegetables donated to local food drives and much more.
The Long Island Master Gardeners is a tax-exempt organization as defined by the Internal Revenue Service 501(c)(4). Contributions to LIMG are not tax deductible.
