Long Island Master Gardeners 2012 Calendar of Events, Meetings and Activities

Executive board meeting begin at 8:30 AM. All general membership meetings are after the executive board meeting, about 10 AM.

All meetings are at the Brookhaven Horticultural Center unless otherwise stated.

February 15, 2012: Fred Drewes, SCC Professor Emeritus and LIMG member will fill us in on his ‘Heritage Park’ project, "Landscape Development of Heritage Park," located in Mount Sinai at Route 25A and County Road 83.

March 21, 2012: Margaret Conover, Ph. D., M. G., "Chia: The Mexican Miracle seed."

April 18, 2012: Judy Ogden, "Judy Ogden's Design and Planting, St. James, N. Y."

May 12 Plant Sale

May 16, 2012: Nick DeNezzo, "How to View and Attract Hummingbirds."

Four ways to Brookhaven Horticultural Center:

Sunrise to Waverly Ave. (exit 52)-north 2 lights-right on Buckley Ave-1 mile on right.
LIE to exit 63, south on North Ocean- right on Woodside Ave (Rte 99) - right onto Buckley - past cemetery, enter on right.
LIE exit 63 south on North Ocean Avenue – first right (Jamaica Avenue) past railroad overpass. Go until tee intersection (about half a mile) which is Blue Point Road. Go left onto Blue Point until first traffic light. Turn left at first traffic light onto Buckley. Center entrance is on left about one quarter mile.
From the north shore-Rte 97 (Nicholls Rd) south-left onto Patchogue-Holbrook Rd. (CR 19)-follow signs to Woodside Ave. (Rte 99)-left onto Woodside Ave. (Rte 99) follow signs to Buckley Rd. (the signs may say Holtsville Park)-left onto Buckley Rd.-park is on the right.
