LIMG BOOKCASE: The LIMG bookcase is now located at the Brookhaven Ecology Center main foyer. Bring in your old gardening books. Members can borrow books from the bookcase and return them when finish reading them.

Wednesday, February 20 Guest speaker CCE Horticultural Consultant Sandra Vultaggio, topic will be “Growing Degree Days.”
Wednesday, March 20 Guest speaker SUNY Farmingdale University Professor Garrett Beier’s topic will be “Mushrooms that Won’t Kill
You.”
Wednesday, April 17 Guest speaker Marie Camenares will present “Spring Flower Arrangements.”
Wednesday, May 15 Guest speaker and LIMG member, Peter Akras will present “Vegetable Gardening.”
Wednesday, June 19 Guest speaker Tom Stemmler of Daisy Gardens will tell us “What’s New?”
This meeting will be at Daisy Gardens, Sayville.
Wednesday, July 17 LIMG will go to SUNY Farmingdale University where Professor Veraka will give us a presentation and a tour of the university Sustainable Garden.
August: LIMG annual picnic, date, time, and location to be announced.
Wednesday, September 18 Guest speaker Karl Auwaerter of Bayport Flower House will present a fall program.
Wednesday, October 16 Robert Boyle of RB Irrigations, West Hampton,will present “Irrigation for Your Garden.”
Wednesday, November 20 African Violet Society President Carol Klein will bring examples that will illustrate how to create show us
" Mini Landscapes Table Designs.”
December: Christmas Party, date, time, and location to be announced.
LIMG Membership Renewal
It is that time of the year for renewing your LIMG membership. Click the button below to obtain the 2019 Long Island Master Gardeners membership form. Bring the completed form along with your check, $35.00 for a couple and $25.00 for a single, to the meeting and give it to Lorraine Leacock, LIMG treasurer. This will save you postage and make Lorraine's work a lot easier.

Four ways to Brookhaven Ecology Site:
1. Sunrise to Waverly Ave. (exit 52)- Then go north 2 lights. Turn right on
Buckley Ave. Ecology site is 1 mile down on right.
2. LIE to exit 63, south on North Ocean- right on Woodside Ave (Rte 99)
- right onto Buckley - past cemetery, enter on right.
3. LIE exit 63 south on North Ocean Avenue – first right (Jamaica Avenue) past
railroad overpass. Go until tee intersection (about half a mile) which is Blue Point Rd.
Go left onto Blue Point until first traffic light. Turn left at first traffic light onto Buckley.
Ecology Center entrance is on left about one quarter mile.
4. From the north shore-Rte 97 (Nicolls Rd.) south. Go left onto Patchogue-Holbrook Rd.(CR 19)
Follow signs to Woodside Ave. (Rte 99). Go left onto Woodside Ave. (Rte 99) and follow signs to
Buckley Rd. (the signs may say Holtsville Park) Go left onto Buckley Rd. Park is on the right.
